Position Overview:

Aspen Claims Service is seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Estimate Writer to join our growing team. In this role, you will be responsible for preparing accurate, thorough, and timely estimates for property insurance claims. You will work closely with adjusters, contractors, and carriers to ensure all estimates meet carrier guidelines, industry standards, and Aspen’s commitment to quality. This position is ideal for someone with a strong background in Xactimate (or Cotality (Symbility)), excellent attention to detail, and the ability to work in a fast-paced claims environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare accurate and detailed estimates for residential and commercial property insurance claims using Xactimate.
  • Review inspection notes, photos, and documentation from field adjusters to develop complete estimates.
  • Ensure estimates comply with carrier requirements, industry standards, and Aspen’s internal quality controls.
  • Collaborate with adjusters, desk reviewers, and carriers to address estimate revisions or clarifications.
  • Stay current on pricing trends, building materials, and insurance carrier guidelines.
  • Meet deadlines and handle multiple assignments simultaneously.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 2 years of experience in property insurance estimating or a related field.
  • Proficiency with Xactimate required.
  • Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and building codes.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • High attention to detail and ability to work independently.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with internal teams and external partners.
